Term 1 - Word Processing
Ex. 31: 31Web (creating a webpage in Word) - 10/20 - 10/12/12
In this assignment, we were required to make a webpage through a microsoft word document by saving it as a single file webpage. Along with that, we also learned to enable hyperlinks. The technology skills required were rudimentary word processing skills, primarily, saving under different file types. Through this assignment, I learned how to save documents under different file types - specifically, as single file webpages - and how to enable hyperlinks. Personally speaking, I don't think I did anything well in the assignment, insofar as everything was as it should be. Thus, one could say that I did well by following the directions. If I were given the opprotunity to do the assignment again, I would probably display more creativity, as opposed to submitting a replica of the model in the directions.
Ex. 35: 35Workout (creating tables with rotating text and merging cells) - 10/16/11
In this assignment, we were required to create a document, which included a table with rotating titles, and merged cells. The technology skills required in this assignment were slightly more complex than those of 31Web, inasmuch as it requires understanding regarding table formatting. Through this assignment, I leanred how to maneuver through table formatting to a higher degree, and also learned how to merge cells. I felt as if my rendition of the model described in the instructions was fairly accurate, and thus, well done. Although, I don't think that my model is anything more than what was required, and thus, could have improved. As previously stated, I feel as if the assignment lacked any creativity, and that it was simply what was required of me. Given the opprotunity, I would rectify this.
Ex. 36: 36Basket (creating tables with calculations) - 10/27/11
In this assignment, we were required to create a table that included formulae - a realistic application of a function that may prove to be useful in a various range of scenarios. The technology skills required in this assignment were simply inserting formulae, and creating tables - similar to that of 35Workout, but with different table functions. Through this assignment in particular, I learned how to insert formulae into tables - a precursor to microsoft excel, and a useful foundation. Unlike most assignments, I felt that I displayed a bit of creativity in regards to the aesthetics of the table, which I personally believe to be a job well done. Given the opprotunity, I would most likely do it the same way that I did it the first time - as it reflects a bit of creativity, I think the only way it could be improved would be if it were more colorful.
